Volunteers Speak UP!

The Volunteers Speak UP! campaign serves to address and reduce risks related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The mission of Volunteers Speak UP! is to educate and engage the University of Tennessee community around prevention, bystander intervention and campus resources.

Volunteers Speak UP! empowers YOU to help keep UT’s campus safe for all Volunteers. Get involved by:

A SPEAKologist noun \ spēk ōl ə jist \ is a member of the UT community who is committed to be an active bystander and is trained to recognize potentially harmful situations and Speak UP! The training covers offensive language, sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, but much of the lesson is translatable to other situations.
